Advice & Implementation

We do more than tell you that you need a bridge —
we help you build it. If you would like us to.

Since 1995 — First-Hand Experience

Our advice is grounded in what we have built ourselves.

Internet pioneer in 1995. Austria's first private fixed-line operator. Biometric hardware with worldwide patents. Encrypted communications for government agencies. Multiple spin-offs and successful exits — all from one company.

Telecoms & Carriers
From Start-up to Network Operator

Established Austria's first private PSTN fixed-line operator (PTAG, Siemens EWSD) — including interconnection with the state-owned PTT. Further telecoms ventures followed: Best Telecom, A-Tel and Phoenix.

We know the carrier business, regulation and interconnection from the inside — not from reports.

Secure Authentication
Hardware, Patents, IP

Founded a biometric ID company with its own hardware production and worldwide patents — licensed by Bloomberg among others. Later acquired the complete identity protection technology of Switzerland's AXSionics, a spin-off of Bern University of Applied Sciences — including all patents.

We know what technology IP is worth — and what it is not.

AGSES
Biometrics in the User's Hands

Launched as an ICSL project in 2007, spun off in 2008: AGSES — biometric multi-factor authentication on a dedicated card: EAL4+ chip, fingerprint reader, trusted display, optical interface, 128 independent cryptographic slots. Around 120,000 cards in use — plus approximately 500,000 manufactured under licence: the Bloomberg B-Unit.

ICSL was responsible for operations, integration and development — AGSES holds the worldwide patents.

COMSEC & Cryptography
Serving Government Since 2001

Secure communications systems for government bodies and major customers: hardware-based encryption, integration of different cryptographic systems, EMEA responsibility for distribution, workshops and training, Samsung partnership.

Now spun off as a separate company: ICSL Secure Communications.
Spin-offs & Exits
Found, Scale, Sell

Example PTAG — Pegasus Telekom: from zero to 35 employees and 1,100 business customers in three years — the only alternative telecoms operator in Austria at the time with positive EBITDA. Successfully sold in 2000. Alongside technology acquisitions, partnerships and the 2004 spin-off of the COMSEC business into today's ICSL GmbH.

We have sat on both sides of the table — as founders, sellers and buyers of technology.
Telemedicine
Innovation Ahead of Its Time

Telemedicine Spin-off TeleMed / vitaphone (founded in 2004, successfully sold in 2012): a telemedicine innovation leader — its cardiac monitoring phone was even featured in ORF broadcasts. Today, a smartwatch recording an ECG is commonplace — in 2004, it was pioneering work. New to the market, sometimes too early — always ahead.

Innovation also means arriving before the market is ready.

For Investors, VC & Cybersecurity Companies

Operational expertise for your decision.

Investing or growing in communications and security technology requires more than market reports. We assess technology, teams and market access from practical experience: as founders, operators and buyers in these very markets.

01

Due Diligence

Technology and architecture assessment of targets in COMSEC, telecoms and security. Patents & IP, eligibility for approval, technical substance — before you sign.

02

Market & Landscape

European government and enterprise markets for security technology: procurement, approvals, competition. Who buys, how long it takes — and why providers fail.

03

Build, Buy or Partner

Product and partner strategy for cybersecurity companies: develop in-house, acquire or partner — assessed against time, risk and market access.

Advice that makes a difference.

We combine deep technical COMSEC knowledge with strategic management consulting — for decision-makers who value substance over buzzwords.
